HMH Engineering provided the Construction Engineering and inspection for this bridge replacement project over the BNSF Rail line in Rathdrum Idaho. This was a two season project to allow half of the new structure to be used for active traffic while the existing bridge was demolished and the second half of the new structure was completed. The project was located at the junction of State Highway 41 and State Highway 53 so there was a focused effort on maintaining two-way traffic to reduce the impact to local traffic and the surrounding business community. The project was also adjacent to the High School and Middle schools so access and safety of pedestrians was paramount.

HMH Engineering was the project management on this 210’ foot single span 4-lane bridge replacement project over the active BNSF main line through Rathdrum. HMH Engineering managed this construction project for Idaho Department of Transportation. This project included shell piling, embankment, construction over a live BNSF rail line, signalization, curb, gutter, sidewalk, paving, and concrete decking. HMH was also responsible for the public involvement with neighboring businesses and the school district.
